Is Butter My Toast free?

Yes, completely. There’s nothing to buy, no sign-up and no ads.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. The effects run on your own device, and photos are created there too. They only go somewhere if you save or share them yourself.

Why does it need my camera?

To show the effects live on your camera picture. Your browser asks first, the picture never leaves your device, and the power button turns the camera off whenever you like.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It works in current versions of Safari on iPhone and iPad, Chrome on Android, and Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on computers. On phones you can switch between the front and back cameras.

How do I save a photo?

Press the round button to take a photo, then choose Save photo to download it, or Share… to send it straight to an app or a friend.
